Departure from the POSITANO jetty at 9.00 a.m. After a 50 minute cruise to Capri, we make several stops around the island - the first being in front of the Grotta Bianca (White Grotto), which is accessible directly from the sea, and the Grotta Mervagliosa ( Marvellous Grotto ) inside which you find the most marvellous stalagmites and stalactites. We then go on to show you a beautiful inlet called « Piscina di Venere » where you have the opportunity for a swim. We then continue our cruise admiring several wonders along the way; Natural Arch which watches over a small pond, believed to have been formed by the collapse of a cave . The cruise continues past the beautiful and mythical"Faraglioni" and on to Marina Piccola which used to be a fishing village and has a pretty little beach which is the perfect spot for lunch and a swim if you wish. Continuing around the island we make a further stop at the Grotta Verde ( Green Grotto) which takes its name from the reflective light entering from the other side. In fact, this cave has two openings where you can have a swim and snorkel in its crystalline waters. Then on to the lighthouse at Punta Carena and along the western coast to the Grotta Azurra Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra, world famous its size and the intense blue tones of the interior). Those wishing to go inside the grotto can purchase an additional entrance ticket (10.50 Euros) and transfer to a small rowing boat. (Please be aware there are often long queues to enter the grotto and this option is subject to weather conditions.) From the Blue Grotto we cruise to Marina Grande, the Capri main dock, arriving at approximately 11:30am.From the dock you are able to reach the town either by taking one of the island's little buses (only a 10 minute ride away) or by taking the funicular (cable car) to the famous ” "Piazzetta" . Whilst the square is quite small, it is the centre of the island and the ideal spot to enjoy a drink and watch the passing parade. You will have time to explore the island's historical sites ( Villa Jovis, Certosa, Augustus Gardens,Villa San Michele of Axel Munthe).Remember to save some time for shopping in the many luxurious boutiques! We meet back at Marina Grande at 4 :30pm to board the boat for the remaining coastal tour of the island and across the sea following the the Sorrento Coast and a chance once again to take a swim in a beautiful cave or in one of the small inlets. Arrival back in Positano is around 6.00 pm.
This is a daily excursion for at least 6 people. Blue Grotto entrance (weather permitting) ticket not included.
