Monte Solaro
The summit of Monte Solaro (589 meters/2062 feet) provides breathtaking views over the bays of both Naples and Salerno. A massive calcareous formations, which gradually emerged during the early Cretaceous period with other large masses on the Sorrento Penisula. From Piazza Vittoria in Anacapri there is a chairlift service (12 minutes). Apart from during the hotest summer months it is more pleasant to make the ascent on foot , or to take the chairlift up and walk down.
